In this album, he reveals the often-overlooked backdrop of Latvia. Through portraits and street scenes of Riga, he highlights those living in poverty, homelessness, and uncertainty, as well as the abandoned churches, depopulated rural houses, and empty concrete buildings—remnants of a vanished life. He aims to portray humanity in a spiritual yet abandoned state, where individuals, often shadows in society, struggle to be heard. This project also reflects the profound societal changes described by Professor Dace Dzenovska as “emptiness,” where post-Soviet capitalism has led to deserted homes, closed businesses, and disconnected communities.
